At SplitMyBuck, your privacy is not a checkbox. This explains exactly what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

You give us: Email address (for login), your display name, and expense data you enter (names, amounts, group members).

Automatically collected: Device type and OS (for compatibility), anonymised usage patterns (to improve features), and IP address (for security).

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect bank details, UPI IDs, payment credentials, Aadhaar, PAN, or any financial account information. SplitMyBuck tracks expenses — it does not process payments.

To provide and improve the Service
To send OTP codes for login
To send important service notifications
To detect and prevent fraudulent activity

We never sell your data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. Our business is not built on advertising or data monetisation.

Data storage & security

Data is stored on Supabase servers with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Row-level security ensures only authorised users can access specific records.

Your rights

Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
Deletion — request permanent deletion of your account and all data
Portability — export your expense data at any time
